What the app keeps

• Your account, if you make one: name, email address, and a password stored as a hash. You can also sign in with Google or Facebook; then we receive your name, email and the picture those services give us, nothing more.
• Your worship record: which prayers you marked, your challenge progress, tasbih counts, Quran bookmarks and reading position, quiz answers and your own calendar notes. These are kept on the phone and, when the phone is online, copied to our server so a new phone gets them back.
• Your settings: language, scripts, reciter, translations, azan choices.
• Location: the city you chose or the one the phone found, to work out prayer times and the qibla. The app does not track where you go.
• Device details: phone model, Android version and app version, and crash reports, so faults can be fixed.
• Feedback you send from the app, with the name and email you type.

What it does not do

• No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
• No contacts, photos, microphone or files are read.
• Donations go through the channels shown in the app; the app itself does not take card details.

Where the data lives

On your phone, and on our server at thesmartqafla.com, reached over HTTPS. Quran text, translations, recitations and hadith come from named public sources and are served from our server; the sources are shown inside the app.

Deleting your data

Delete your account from the app's profile screen, or write to us through the Feedback screen inside the app; your account and everything under it is removed from the server. Uninstalling the app removes what is on the phone.

Children

The app is for general audiences and collects nothing knowingly from children beyond what is described above.

Contact

The Smart Qafla, through the Feedback screen inside the app.
